Bahir Dar, Tikemet, 2019 E.C. (Amhara Region Supreme Court)
The Federal Supreme Court President, Hon. Mr. Tewodros Mihret, together with presidents of regional supreme courts and the presidents of the appellate courts of the Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa city administrations, visited the Amhara Region Supreme Court to observe its reform and improvement initiatives.
The visit took place during the National Conference of Legal Interpreters, which was held in Bahir Dar.
During the visit, the court presidents toured various facilities and examined the systems and practices the Amhara Region Supreme Court has been implementing to fundamentally improve service delivery across the region’s courts.
The delegation visited the Smart Courtrooms, electronic filing (e-filing) system, one-stop digital service center, and call center, all of which have been established to modernize judicial services and expand public access to justice.
The visit also included other infrastructure developments undertaken to create a conducive working environment. In addition, the delegation toured the Supreme Court’s Justice Museum, which was established to preserve and document the history of the judiciary and justice institutions and to serve as a valuable source of information for law students and researchers.
The court presidents expressed their appreciation for the Amhara Region Supreme Court’s commendable efforts to expand access to judicial services.
