Bahirdar, June 05/2026 (Amhara Region Supreme Court)
One of the reform efforts being implemented by the Amhara Region Supreme Court to fundamentally improve the regional judicial system is the collection and organization of documents, images, and audio, as well as other resources that illustrate the country’s and the region’s early judicial system, in a museum.
The Supreme Court, which is helping aspiring judges and prosecutors to gain sufficient knowledge through practical experience and develop their skills, is collecting and organizing ancient proclamations, rules, regulations, photographs, constitutions and other tangible historical resources related to the judiciary and justice system, which will also help researchers conducting research on the judiciary and justice system in the region and the country to obtain sufficient historical references in the field.
In parallel with other reform and improvement works, the Supreme Court, which is working to make the overall processes of the judiciary and justice system intergenerational, has, for the first time in its history, organized a moot court competition for prospective judges and prosecutors from the Amhara Regional Law and Justice Institute in the Moot Court Hall, which is part of the museum.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the competition, Dessie Tilahun (Dr.), Director General of the Amhara Regional Law and Justice Institute, commended the changes being implemented by the Supreme Court to sustainably improve the regional judiciary and justice system, and said that the moot court room built as part of the museum will have a great contribution to the creation of competent judges and prosecutors, as well as other legal professionals in the region judiciary and justice system, and that the training provided by our institute at the theoretical level will be put into practice.
The Director General said that they are happy to organize the first competition in the history of the museum, and that the construction of the moot court room, which has made a great contribution to the improvement of the judiciary and justice system in the region, will allow the trainees of the institute to share their experiences and knowledge with experienced judges and prosecutors.
The judges of the Supreme Court and the prosecutors of the Office of Justice who attended the competition shared their experiences and knowledge gained through education and work with the contestants and other participating candidate judges and prosecutors.
