The Amhara Region Supreme Court has been undertaking extensive reform initiatives aimed at making judicial services more modern, efficient, accessible, and quality-oriented, while reducing the time and cost required to access justice and strengthening public trust in the courts.

As part of these efforts, the Court has introduced a range of institutional and technological reforms that have attracted the attention of visitors from both the federal and regional levels.

Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, visited the Amhara Region Supreme Court and toured its ongoing reform and modernization initiatives.

During his visit, the Prime Minister observed several of the Court’s key reform initiatives, including its digitalization programs and smart courtrooms, the Digital One-Stop Service Center, a modern child-care facility, courtrooms equipped for transparent and open hearings, the Court’s call center, and other modernization and service-improvement initiatives.

The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the progress he witnessed, noting that the reform initiatives at the Court were encouraging and offered hope for further improvements in the delivery of justice.

Dr. Abiy Ahmed also commended Honorable Ato Alemante Agidew, President of the Amhara Region Supreme Court, for translating the reform initiatives into practice within a relatively short period and expressed his appreciation for the work undertaken under his leadership.
