Professional legal discussions, which help judges gain a deeper understanding of issues frequently brought to the region courts and enhance the quality of judicial decision-making, are regularly conducted across all courts in the region.
As part of this ongoing initiative, the Region Supreme Court held its regular professional legal discussion under the theme “Procedures for Disputes Decided in a Short and Expedited Manner.” The discussion is part of a series of professional forums that have been conducted regularly since the beginning of the 2025/26 Ethiopian fiscal year.
The opening presentation was delivered by Supreme Court Judge Honorable Judge Ato Fenta Tarekne, who addressed key aspects of the topic. Following the presentation, other Supreme Court judges shared their views, experiences, and professional insights, providing valuable input for the participants.
Strengthening the professional competence of judges has been one of the priority areas of the Region Supreme Court during the 2025/26 fiscal year. As part of its efforts to build human resource capacity, the Court has continued to reinforce professional legal dialogue among judges at all levels of the regional judiciary. These discussions have played an important role in enhancing judges’ professional knowledge, experience-sharing, and overall judicial capacity.
