Deputy Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives Visits the Supreme Court of the Amhara Region

The Deputy Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives, Honorable Ms. Lome Bedo, along with Minister of State for Health Ms. Saharela Abdullahi, Minister of State for Tourism Dr. Endegena Abebe, and other senior federal and regional officials, visited the Supreme Court of the Amhara Region to observe its ongoing reform efforts.

The visit focused on initiatives aimed at delivering modern judicial services, creating a more comfortable working environment, and advancing infrastructure and operational reforms within the region’s judiciary and justice system.

These nationwide judicial reform and improvement efforts are being coordinated by councils at all levels. As part of this initiative, the Deputy Speaker and accompanying officials toured various development and good governance projects across the Amhara Region, including the comprehensive judicial service reforms being implemented by the Supreme Court.

During the visit, the officials received a briefing from the President of the Supreme Court, Honorable Ato Alemante Agidew. They expressed their admiration for the significant progress achieved within a short period.

The Deputy Speaker noted that the Court’s reform efforts serve as a model for other judicial and justice institutions. She emphasized that these initiatives will help reduce challenges faced by service users, enhance the motivation of judges and staff, and should be further strengthened and expanded.

Other senior federal and regional officials were also present during the visit.
