The President of the Amhara Region Islamic Affairs Higher Council, Sheikh Nuredin Qasim, held discussions with the President of the Amhara Region Supreme Court, Honorable Ato Alemante Agidew, on strengthening cooperation to enhance judicial service delivery, particularly within the Sharia court system.
During the meeting, Honorable Ato Alemante Agidew briefed Sheikh Nuredin and senior officials of the Islamic Affairs Higher Council on the comprehensive judicial reforms being implemented by the Amhara Region Supreme Court. He explained that the reforms are aimed at providing judicial services that are faster, more efficient, modern, reliable, and accessible while reducing the time, cost, and inconvenience faced by court users.
The President also highlighted the Court's ongoing efforts to improve institutional procedures, enhance service quality, expand access to justice, and modernize judicial administration across the regional court system, including the Sharia courts. He emphasized the importance of close collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of these reforms.
Following the discussion, Sheikh Nuredin Qasim toured the Supreme Court's modern facilities and observed its improved working environment and judicial service delivery system. He expressed his appreciation for the reforms and institutional improvements undertaken by the Court, describing them as exemplary initiatives that contribute to better access to justice.
Sheikh Nuredin reaffirmed the Islamic Affairs Higher Council's commitment to working closely with the Amhara Region Supreme Court to strengthen the effectiveness of Sharia courts and support broader initiatives aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of judicial services throughout the region.
