The Amhara Regional Supreme Court is currently implementing a transformation plan that has the potential to fundamentally reform the institution.
To support this effort, the Court is working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
On this day, detailed presentations were made and discussions held on the Court’s transformation plan, the activities already carried out, and the actions planned for implementation in the short and long term.
During the discussion, Mr. Sean Boyd commended the Court’s efforts to uphold the rule of law and to build an independent judiciary. He also noted that the fact that both countries follow a federal system creates an opportunity to share experiences on best practices and to strengthen capacity building.
Building on this understanding, a fruitful discussion was held in which it was stated that the Government of Canada and the Court would work together by identifying priority areas of cooperation in order to make the Court’s reform efforts more effective.
