Bahir Dar, September 30, 2026 (Amhara Region Supreme Court)
The Second Annual Conference of Judges of the Amhara Region Courts commenced today, with Ato Goshu Endalamaw, Mayor of Bahir Dar City, attending the opening session and delivering a welcome message to the conference participants.
The Mayor noted that the people of Amhara attach great importance to law and justice, and commended the significant work undertaken by the Amhara Region Supreme Court over the past two to three years to improve the judicial and justice system.
In particular, he said the Supreme Court’s efforts to provide modern and responsive judicial services have not only helped uphold the institution’s standing and reputation, but have also provided meaningful solutions to the public and enabled members of the community seeking justice to access justice more conveniently and through improved-quality services.
Beyond its regular judicial responsibilities, the Mayor also commended the Supreme Court for taking a leading role in the city’s corridor development initiative, describing its participation as an exemplary fulfillment of its social responsibility.
He noted that the Court’s active engagement in the city’s development efforts demonstrates its growing role as a model institution across broader areas of public service and civic responsibility.
Ato Goshu Endalamaw welcomed the participants to Bahir Dar and expressed his best wishes for a successful and productive stay in the city.
