The Head of the Amhara Region Animal and Fish Resources Development Bureau, Dr. Gashaw Muche, and the Head of the Regional Agriculture Bureau, Mr. Dereje Mandefro, visited the Amhara Region Supreme Court to observe the Court’s ongoing reform initiatives. During the visit, the President of the Amhara Region Supreme Court, Hon. Alemante Agidew, briefed the bureau heads on the comprehensive reforms implemented by the Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their tour, the bureau heads visited a wide range of transformation initiatives undertaken by the Court, including large-scale digitalization projects implemented at the  Supreme Court, all High Courts, and selected Woreda Courts; centrally monitored security camera systems installed across the Supreme Court, all High Courts, and selected Woreda Courts; renovated and newly constructed court facilities; remote hearing and e-filing systems; and multiple public information service platforms, including a toll-free call center, a mobile application, a website, digital display screens, and information kiosks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation also toured the Court’s Situation Room, the Justice Museum, a child-care center, resting facilities for breastfeeding mothers and vulnerable court users, disability-friendly service arrangements that reflect the Court’s people-centered reform approach, modern and secure vehicle and bicycle parking facilities, a drivers’ lounge, a modern staff cafeteria, improved working environments, landscaping and greenery projects, and other institutional improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the visit, the bureau heads expressed their deep appreciation for the Court’s achievements, particularly the leadership demonstrated by President Hon. Alemante Agidew. They noted that the Court had successfully conceived and implemented practical, citizen-centered reforms within a short period, creating lasting institutional improvements that ease the burden on citizens, reduce the time and cost of accessing justice, and significantly enhance the accessibility of judicial services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They further emphasized that the Court’s reform experience should serve as a model for all institutions across the Amhara Region and beyond, stating that it deserves to be widely observed and replicated as a best practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bureau heads also remarked that although the Court’s reforms had previously been featured in the media, media coverage alone could not fully capture the scale and impact of the transformation. They noted that witnessing the reforms in person revealed a far more remarkable achievement than could be conveyed through reports alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, President Hon. Alemante Agidew thanked the visiting bureau heads for taking the time to visit the Court and for their constructive feedback. He reaffirmed the Court’s commitment to ensuring the sustainability of the reforms already underway while introducing additional innovative reform programs in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also stressed that strengthening institutions at both the regional and national levels requires collective commitment and collaboration from all stakeholders to advance the country’s overall development. He concluded by reaffirming that the Amhara Region Supreme Court remains more committed than ever to fulfilling its constitutional mandate and serving the public with greater efficiency, accessibility, and excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
