Bahir Dar, May 20\/2026 (Amhara Region Supreme Court)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Supreme Court of the Amhara Region is in the process of discussing and agreeing to work collaboratively with various partners and stakeholders to sustainably continue the transformation and improvement efforts that are achieving tangible results in the region’s judicial and justice system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Supreme Court discussed with the officials of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Ethiopia bureau how to further strengthen the efforts of the Supreme Court in crime prevention and other initiatives to sustainably improve the judiciary and justice system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Head of the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime, Ethiopia bureau, Ato Abraham Ayalew, and his delegation were received at his office by the President of the Supreme Court of the Amhara Region, His Excellency Ato Alemante Agidew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the Supreme Court has been given the authority by proclamation to lead the regional judicial and justice cooperation platform. He said that the office will work with the supreme court in our efforts to prevent organized crime, accurately measure and identify the access to justice in the region, in research and analysis, capacity building, and organizing information from all judicial and justice institutions in one center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Honorable President said that we will work in collaboration with the Office for access to justice by extending the modern judicial services initiated at the Supreme Court and Zonal High Courts to the districts, and thanked the Office officials who came to assist the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, Ato Abraham Ayalew, Head of the UNODC, Ethiopia Bureau, noted that he has seen the significant contribution that the Amhara Region Supreme Court is making to the improvement of the judiciary and justice system, and expressed their readiness to support the initiated reform and improvement efforts in every way possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
